Lafrance Hospitality is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Associate to join our accounting team at the Corporate Office. The successful candidate will assist with day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities while working closely with experienced finance professionals.
Requirements
Essential Responsibilities
- Prepare and record journal entries accurately and timely.
- Assist with monthly, and annual financial close processes.
- Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger account reconciliations.
- Maintain fixed asset, prepaid expense, and accrued expense schedules.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed.
- Analyze account balances and investigate discrepancies.
- Prepare supporting schedules for financial statements and audits.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Support external auditors, tax preparers, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Maintain organized accounting records and documentation.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and internal controls.
- Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related business field.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, sorting, filtering, and data analysis.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred:
- Internship, co-op, or up to two years of accounting experience.
- Experience with accounting software or ERP systems.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
$23-26/hour to start.
