American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cardiovascular OR/CVOR-Open Heart position requiring an active IL RN license and BSN.

Work in the Open Heart unit of a hospital setting
-
Day shift schedule from 6:30 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday
-
40 hours per week over 5 days
-
20-week assignment length
-
Rotating weekend and holiday shift requirements
-
May float to other Carle Health facilities including Methodist Hospital, Young Minds, Pekin Hospital, and Proctor Hospital
-
Uses Epic charting system
-
Active IL RN license in good standing
-
BLS certification (American Heart Association)

ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
-
BSN required
-
Minimum two years of relevant nursing experience
-
Epic charting experience required
-
Skilled in bedside lab testing and specimen collection
-
Strong problem-solving and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
-
Technical knowledge of equipment with troubleshooting ability

Provide direct patient care through assessment, care planning, intervention, and evaluation using the nursing process

Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care from admission through discharge

Deliver patient and family education tailored to age, culture, and developmental needs
-
Document patient progress and complete required charting throughout each shift
-
Demonstrate technical proficiency with equipment and troubleshoot issues as needed
-
Advocate for patients and communicate effectively with physicians and care team members
-
Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
-
RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract period
-
No previous Carle Health contingent workers who completed a full year without a required break in service
