Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage the reservation system to optimize seating flow
- Coordinate table assignments and ensure efficient restaurant table management using POS systems such as Toast POS.
- Handle guest inquiries via phone, demonstrating professional phone etiquette and clear communication skills
- Process customer transactions accurately at the cashier station, including bill payments and order modifications using POS systems
- Maintain organization of waiting lists, reservation logs, and guest seating charts to ensure smooth operations
- Uphold food safety standards and cleanliness in the cashier area and guest service zones
- Provide exceptional guest relations by addressing questions, resolving concerns promptly, and ensuring a positive dining experience
Skills
- Proven experience as a host/hostess or cashier in a restaurant or food service environment
- Strong knowledge of restaurant reservation management and table management systems like TOAST POS
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively both in person and over the phone
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and balancing registers
- Familiarity with food safety protocols and hospitality standards to ensure guest well-being
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tables, reservations, and guest requests efficiently
- Experience with hotel or hospitality environments is a plus, along with serving or guest relations expertise
