Montessori Renaissance Academy is seeking a part-time assistant teacher who is caring, motivated, and possesses a love of encouraging children to learn and grow. We are looking to hire an afternoon assistant who would primarily work in our Toddler room.
Montessori Renaissance Academy is a private, nonprofit Montessori school located in the north metropolitan suburb of Anoka, MN. We are providing children from 16 months through 8th grade with an alternative to more traditional schools.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Work closely with the lead teacher to help implement the Montessori curriculum in a safe and nurturing classroom.
- Must be able to ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
- Be a self-starter, able to complete various tasks and projects.
- Interact and communicate effectively as a team with colleagues within the classroom and school.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior experience in a Montessori setting is preferred, but not required
- To be Assistant Teacher qualified, education and experience must meet one of the following combinations:
- 1. High school diploma/GED AND 2,080 hours experience as an aide or student intern AND 8 semester credits of postsecondary education (12 quarter credits) that count for DCYF
- 2. At least 2 years full time postsecondary education from a college or university AND 1,040 hours experience as an aide or student intern AND 6 semester credits (9 quarter credits) that count for DCYF
- 3. Baccalaureate (4-year) degree in any field from an accredited college or university AND 6 semester credits (9 quarter credits) that count for DCYF
- 4. Child Development Associate credential from the Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition
COMPENSATION:
- Dependent on experience and education
- Starting at $16 per hour for Assistant Teacher-qualified individuals
SCHEDULE:
- Monday-Friday 1:30 - 5:30pm
