Punahou School is actively recruiting a Full Time Temporary Nurse to join the Health Center team! The Punahou School Health Center aims to improve each student’s physical and psychological health, to prevent disease or to control its spread, to maintain satisfactory community hygiene and safety, and to administer first aid for injuries that may occur during the school day. The School Nurse performs work within the complex, rewarding, and often unpredictable setting of the school, acting as a care provider, advocate, teacher, and educator. They will provide expertise and oversight for the provision of school health services and promotion of health education. Using clinical knowledge and judgment, the School Nurse provides health care to students, faculty and staff, performs health screenings, and coordinates referrals to the medical home or primary health care provider. Serving as a liaison between school personnel, family, community and health care providers, school nurses advocate for health care and a healthy school environment. School Nurses review health requirement documentation for all students, and work with families as needed to ensure that these requirements are complete and up-to-date. They also work with faculty, staff, and administration to ensure that student health needs are attended to for off campus activities.
If you are passionate about nursing, have recent nursing experience in pediatric and acute care settings, thrive in a collaborative team-oriented environment, have commitment to professional development and the desire to educate students and faculty about health and wellbeing, we invite you to apply!
