Andy Lewis HVACis a family-owned HVAC company serving Charlotte and surrounding areas for over 20 years. We are growing and looking for a Preconstruction Manager who specializes in new residential construction and can take ownership of the bidding process from start to finish.
This role is built for someone who knows how to work with builders, run accurate loads, and produce clean, competitive bids that win jobs and set the field up for success. You will be the point person on all new construction estimates—owning the numbers, the design, and the relationships that drive revenue.

What You’ll Do:
- Own the full preconstruction process for new residential builds
- Perform HVAC load calculations using Wrightsoft (Manual J, S, D)
- Design practical, field-ready duct systems for new homes
- Build accurate, competitive bids using Excel and internal pricing tools
- Review plans, specs, and builder requirements to ensure feasibility
- Act as the primary contact for builders during bidding and preconstruction
- Work closely with operations to ensure clean handoffs and job success
- Continuously refine pricing, templates, and estimating accuracy
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in HVAC estimating and design for new construction
- Excel Experience
- Solid understanding of residential HVAC.
- Experience working directly with builders and managing bid relationships
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and profitability
- Able to manage multiple bids and deadlines without losing quality
- Self-driven and accountable—you take ownership of your numbers
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with local codes and permitting in the Charlotte market
- Strong working knowledge of Wrightsoft (not required but would need to learn, training provided by Andy Lewis HVAC)
- Experience scaling or standardizing estimating processes
- Background working in high-volume production building environments
