Member Duties : AmeriCorps Abbreviated-Time Members serve as youth leadership interns who support Teacher-Mentors in providing mentoring, academic support, recreation, adventure activities, and family engagement opportunities for elementary and middle school students. Members serve as positive peer role models, assist with small-group activities, and help facilitate weekend, summer, and special events that promote student engagement and positive youth development. Through their service, members expand the organization's capacity to build meaningful relationships with youth while developing their own leadership, communication, and career readiness skills. Members also participate in orientation, professional development, National AmeriCorps Days of Service, complete required service documentation, and maintain accurate timesheets.
