Suncoast Gymnastics Academy is growing, and we’re looking for experienced gymnastics coaches who love turning nervous first-timers into confident athletes. If you can run a class where every kid is moving, learning, and safe — and you want to do it at a gym that treats its staff like family — let’s talk.
About Suncoast
We’re a full-service gymnastics academy in Wesley Chapel, FL, serving kids of every age and level — from first-time preschoolers to competitive team athletes — through recreational classes, team training, camps, and birthday parties. Our mission is simple: build children emotionally, mentally, and physically to their highest potential. “Athletics for All” isn’t a tagline for us — it’s how we run every class.
About the Role
As a Gymnastics Coach, you’ll lead safe, high-energy classes that keep athletes engaged and progressing. Twelve months in, you’ll have families who ask for you by name, a reputation for classes that run tight and fun, and a group of athletes who hit real milestones because you knew how to break a skill down and build their confidence. You’ll spot with hands ready and eyes up, plan every class with purpose, and help set the standard for great coaching on our floor.
What You’ll Do
- Plan and lead recreational and/or team gymnastics classes across multiple levels using clear skill progressions
- Spot every new or high-risk skill and keep safety the top priority on every rep
- Run station rotations that keep kids active — no long lines, no standing around
- Give specific, encouraging feedback that builds kids up
- Build genuine relationships with athletes and their families, and share wins at pickup
- Keep your equipment, mats, and space clean, safe, and reset before you leave
What We’re Looking For — Required
- Hands-on gymnastics coaching or instruction experience (recreational, team, tumbling, or a related discipline)
- Working knowledge of gymnastics fundamentals, skill progressions, and safe spotting technique
- A safety-first mindset and sound judgment with children
- The energy and patience to keep a group of kids engaged, moving, and having fun
- Reliability and strong communication — you show up on time, ready to coach
- Physical ability to demonstrate skills, spot athletes, and stay active throughout class
- Availability for [afternoons/evenings and/or weekend mornings]
- Willingness to complete a background check
*
- USA Gymnastics Professional Membership and Safety/Risk Management certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience coaching competitive/team levels
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
- Background in a related movement discipline — tumbling, cheer, ninja/parkour, dance, or trampoline
- Experience with class-management software (e.g., iClassPro)
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: 15 - 18 hr, depending on experience
- staff & family class discounts, a clear path to lead-coach and team roles, a supportive “one team” culture
