We are consultancy firm looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking an mid-level engineer/scientist to grow our solid waste, recycling, and sustainability practice with existing and new clients nationwide. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team. We are looking for an engineer or scientist with an eye for detail and willing to learn technical details to help solve client challenges. This is a full-time hybrid/remote position in Cincinnati or Columbus, Ohio.

We are committed to quality, purpose, and team sustainability. Our clients are looking for solutions in sustainably manage materials such as reuse, recycling, and composting. When a user discards a material, materials are then transported and processed to create the products and services that drive our society. Our firm works on developing strategies and programming to build capacity and integrate materials management approaches.
Your responsibilities:
· Prepare, conduct, supervise, or direct project deliverables including strategic plans, feasibility studies (material recovery and organic facilities), waste and materials management plans, and cost estimates
· Build Excel models to provide fact-based advice on curbside collection scenarios, recyclable material flows, decision matrices, economic and financial analysis
· Lead hands-on field work to conduct waste and material characterization studies
· Delegate and supervise junior staff of professionals and technicians
· Take analytical technical information and developing clear, accessible insights for diverse audiences
· Communicate findings through reports and visualizations that clearly convey statistical significance and margin of error
Skills/Experience:
· Bachelors or master's degree in civil, environmental, or sustainability engineering, or related discipline.
· 9+ plus years of experience.
· Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Teams, OneNote, etc.)
· Familiarity with ArcGIS is a plus.
· Demonstrated experience with client marketing and proposal development.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills; experience writing comprehensive technical reports.
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.
· This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
· Must have a valid driver’s license.
Compliance and Physical Requirements:
· Ability to pass background screening, drug screening, and physical examination
· Ability to work in both office waste industry environments
· Ability to conduct facility site assessments, including walking, climbing stairs, and accessing operational areas when required
· Occasional travel is required to industrial sites
In addition to our core values, candidates must be working towards or have a bachelor’s degree in sustainability, biology, chemistry, planning, geography, or environmental sciences. Candidates with knowledge of recycling operations, environmental laws, and regulations are a plus.
Compensation:
$70,000-$100,000 Yearly
The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
