Job Overview
Building strong professional relationships with staff, learning the ins and outs of the staff below them, ability to hold people accountable, managing security staff that protect client property against theft and vandalism. Duties are also to ensure the safety of the people on the client premises, training security offers in proper security measures, performing site inspections and equipment inspections to confirm that the grounds and gear are all up to safety standards without the need for repair, and providing customer service to customers or guests that may require assistance. The primary function of a security supervisor is to ensure staff are functioning at levels that meet or are above client and company satisfaction. As part of this, if necessary, supervisors fill vacant shifts when necessary.
We are seeking a dynamic and vigilant Security Supervisor to lead our security team in safeguarding our facilities, personnel, and assets. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily security operations, coordinate surveillance activities, and ensure compliance with safety protocols. Your leadership will foster a secure environment where everyone feels protected and confident. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of security personnel to ensure effective coverage of all premises
- Implement loss prevention strategies to minimize theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access
- Conduct conflict management and de-escalation during incidents or disturbances to maintain order
- Ensure all security procedures are followed, including access control, patrols, and emergency responses
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during investigations or emergencies as needed
- Maintain detailed incident reports, shift logs, and security records for accountability and review
- Training all new hires
- Conducing site walks with clients
Requirements
- Proven experience in security management, law enforcement, military service or related fields
- Certification in first aid, CPR, and conflict management preferred but not mandatory
- Strong understanding of loss prevention methods and security best practices
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively under pressure
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly while making quick decisions
- Familiarity with legal regulations related to security operations in various jurisdictions
- Has changed jobs 3 or less times in the past 3 (needs to be verifiable)
- Has held consistent employment for the past 3 years without gaps larger than 2 weeks between jobs (needs to be verifiable)
- Has 4 years of security experience
- Displays understanding of job requirements, ability to think on your feet, and act in a professional manner.
- Proficient computer skills with basic college level writing skills.
- Working knowledge of basic security techniques
