Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service and clear directions within the clinic or medical office.
- Schedule appointments accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including collecting co-pays and updating demographic information.
- Maintain organized medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper documentation review.
- Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries promptly and efficiently.
- Support clinic operations by managing appointment reminders, follow-up scheduling, and coordinating with healthcare providers.
- Utilize computer skills to update patient information.
- Perform filing, data entry, and other clerical tasks to ensure smooth office management.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with strong clinic experience.
- Must hold an active Medical Assistant License
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Sales Experience Preferred
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to review documentation thoroughly and accurately.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and health information management software.
- Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse patient populations.
