Family Law Attorney (5+ Years) — Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid)
$130,000–$150,000 DOE + quarterly bonus
A boutique firm we are working with is hiring an experienced family law attorney and we know the strongest candidates for this role are already employed and doing well where they are. This is for the attorney who's succeeding, but has started to wonder whether high case volume is the only way a firm knows how to grow.
It isn't the way we grow. The attorney will carry around 30 cases and the founder built the firm around the belief that a capped caseload, handled at a genuinely high standard and billed at a premium rate, is a better practice than a bloated one billed in a rush. Fewer cases, done well, is the entire model and it's what funds real attorney compensation.
In practice, that means time to think through strategy before a hearing, colleagues to brainstorm the hard questions with, full ownership of your matters from consult through resolution, and hybrid flexibility once you're past ramp-up. We measure the work, not the seat.
The role
- Manage a full family law caseload — divorce, custody and parenting time, support, spousal maintenance, property division, modifications and enforcement — from consult through resolution
- Litigate competently, including hearings and evidentiary hearings
- Record 7 hours of billable and non-billable work per workday in Clio — a target set to be sustainable at a sub-30-case load
- Maintain clear, organized files in Clio and Asana so any matter can be picked up at a glance

Qualifications
- JD and active Arizona bar license
- 5+ years of family law experience with real litigation reps
- Strong command of legal drafting, case strategy, and settlement negotiation
- Ability to own a caseload independently and exercise sound judgment under pressure
Pay: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
