American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position at a Level II trauma teaching hospital, requiring 4+ years of experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Diagnostics unit within a Respiratory Therapy department at a teaching hospital
-
Adult critical care and Emergency Department patient population
-
Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
-
Utilizes ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, SIMV, and IMV
-
Performs airway management including intubation/extubation assist and suctioning
-
Administers medication delivery via nebulizer, MDI, and aerosol setups
-
Manages patients with ARDS, aspiration, fresh tracheostomy, and pneumonia
-
Performs chest physiotherapy, ABG draws, and pulmonary hygiene procedures
-
Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:00

Works 36 or 48 hours per week

Every other weekend required
-
Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays

Requires floating within scope of practice as needed

18-week assignment length
-
RRT certification and BLS required
-
ACCS certification preferred
-
ACLS certification preferred

Minimum 4 years of experience required; candidates with 2+ years may be considered

Teaching hospital experience required

Epic charting system experience required
-
BSN preferred
-
VA state license required; license required if applicable

Pending VA license accepted if candidate holds another active state license to obtain temporary licensure before start

Two professional references required

Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Copies of all required certifications required for consideration

Provide respiratory therapy and neuro diagnostic services within adult critical care and emergency department settings
-
Work as part of a multidisciplinary respiratory care team

Specialty-specific orientation modules completed at start of assignment
-
Candidates must not have worked for the facility as permanent staff or a traveler within the past 12 months
-
External travelers may not exceed 365 total assignment days at this facility
