Join our dedicated team as a Night Shift Caregiver, working from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM to provide compassionate, high-quality care for residents in a supportive and engaging environment. As a Night Shift Caregiver, you will be the reassuring presence during overnight hours, delivering personalized assistance that promotes independence and dignity. Duties
- Provide attentive personal care, assisting residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor residents’ health by checking vital signs and observing for any changes or concerns
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols and document all medication activities using electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Support residents with meal preparation, feeding assistance, and ensuring proper nutrition during overnight hours
- Implement safety procedures including safe patient lifting practices and manual handling techniques; operate equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Engage residents through social interaction, activity facilitation, and behavioral management to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas and ensuring infection control standards are met
- Communicate effectively with team members, family members, and healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans and report any concerns or incidents
Experience
Candidates should have prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or residential care homes. Experience in dementia care, memory care, geriatrics, or home & community care is highly valued. Familiarity with assisting individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments enhances your ability to deliver personalized support. Additional qualifications include CPR and First Aid certification, experience operating EMR systems, safe patient lifting practices such as Hoyer lifts, and proficiency in medication administration. Previous roles involving group home settings or long-term care environments are advantageous. A strong commitment to caregiving principles combined with excellent client communication skills will set you apart as an ideal candidate for this rewarding position.
Pay: $15.00 - $16.50 per hour
