American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a Level 1 trauma center's night shift position requiring current TNCC and NIHSS certifications.

Work in a 68-bed Emergency Department at a Level 1 trauma, stroke, STEMI, and regional burn center
-
Patient ratios are routinely 4:1, subject to change during surges or other circumstances
-
Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
-
Weekend hours required as needed by the facility

No on-call requirements

No floating required
-
Uses Epic EMR
-
Night shift staff must orient on day shift and be available the entire orientation week

Active RN license eligible for licensure in Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri
-
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from AHA required
-
Current TNCC certification required
-
NIHSS certification required, may be obtained prior to start if not already held

Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department experience at a Level 1 trauma facility, or 2 years at a Level 2 trauma facility, required and must be indicated on resume

Experience with trauma and pediatric patients preferred

Experience with high-volume (200+ patients/day) and high-acuity settings preferred

Black scrubs required; jeans and unprofessional attire not permitted

Provide direct patient care for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation

Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize care and comfort
-
Function within the scope of nursing practice consistent with the Missouri Nurse Practice Act and facility standards

Requires strong communication and human relations skills along with demonstrated clinical expertise
-
Physical demands include standing and walking most of the shift, pushing/pulling/gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, and minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
-
Flu vaccination or an approved exemption is required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1, with no declinations accepted

Requested time off must be made up later in the assignment and will not be approved during the first week

Only one holiday RTO request permitted per assignment

Local candidates accepted, though bill rate is reduced for those living within 50 miles of the facility
