Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Psychiatrist Medical Director to lead our mental health services with passion and expertise. Duties
- Provide expert psychiatric leadership by supervising clinical staff and guiding treatment protocols aligned with best practices.
- Oversee the management of electronic health records (EHR) systems and ensure accurate documentation of medical records in compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations.
- Lead clinical research initiatives to advance treatment methodologies, ensuring adherence to FDA regulations and research standards.
- Develop and implement quality improvement programs that meet NCQA standards and enhance patient outcomes.
- Coordinate utilization management processes to optimize resource use while maintaining high-quality patient care.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare laws including HIPAA, DEA regulations, and hospital policies related to medical management and practice management.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning by providing teaching, supervision, and mentorship to medical staff and residents.
- Manage budgets, staffing, and project timelines effectively while maintaining focus on delivering exceptional patient care.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification in Psychiatry; post-residency experience required.
- Proven leadership experience in a hospital or clinical setting, including managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Extensive knowledge of EMR/EHR systems, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical research methodologies.
- Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards such as NCQA, HIPAA, FDA regulations, and drug enforcement policies.
- Strong project management skills with experience in clinical development and quality improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to treat patients as a physician while overseeing clinical operations effectively.
- Supervising experience in a healthcare environment is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with a proactive approach to healthcare management and academic leadership.
