Neville Chemical has an opening for an experienced Quality Manager based at our manufacturing facility in Pittsburgh, PA (Neville Island). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical manufacturing, exceptional leadership skills and a commitment to safety, quality and operational excellence.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
1. Manage all aspects of the Company’s ISO efforts by serving as the ISO management representative and by maintaining and improving the quality managements systems that support ISO certification.
2. Plan and conduct internal quality audits to verify implementation and effectiveness of quality system and compliance to ISO 9001:2015 standard.
3. Participates and prepares staff for annual external audits.
4. Assist plant departments in developing and implementing work procedures and work instructions to comply with ISO requirements and practices.
5. Develop and manage Key Performance Indicators to measure and improve quality performance.
6. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to improve product quality and enhance operational efficiency.
7. Lead the investigation process to resolve quality issues and nonconformances including customer complaints. Identify corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
8. Manage quality control laboratory and oversee laboratory testing, incoming raw material inspections, and finished product quality control.
9. Utilizes statistical techniques for analyzing data to evaluate current production processes and implement process improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10 years of experience in a quality leadership or management role.
- Experience in a chemical process manufacturing environment preferred.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well across all functions.
- Ability to work independently and manage time with several competing priorities.
- Strong planning and organization skills.
- Experience working in a union environment preferred but not required.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or a related technical field
