Landscape Designers | Entry & Mid-Level
We are hiring Entry Level Landscape Designers (1-3 years of professional experience) and Mid-Level Landscape
Designers (3+ years of professional experience).
We are looking for candidates with a clear design point of view, striking cultural literacy and a genuine desire to
transform the built environment. WCDG has a diverse work culture that places emphasis on personal responsibility
and independence. Ideal candidates can easily shift between team collaboration and self-defined tasks. Internal
teams of 3-5 designers per project are overseen by a Principal and are managed by a Senior Designer.
Responsibilities include:
- Site Analysis & Research: Field measurements, survey analysis, assessment of site conditions in relationship
to the owner’s goals (budget, program, timing) and code requirements.
- Design & Drafting: Hand drawings for concepts and CAD-drafted drawings for design development and
construction documentation that include thoughtful, elegant, and resourceful problem solving. Demonstrate a
basic understanding of how things are built and a strong desire to learn.
- Collaboration: Effectively partner with the internal team, outside consultants and clients to accomplish
complex goals, demonstrating emotional resilience, conflict resolution, empathy and problem solving skills.
Assimilate knowledge of the firm’s practice, clientele, goals, policies, and procedures.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture. For Mid-Level Designers, professional licensure is a plus.
Skill/Software Requirements
Demonstrated proficiency in hand sketching, CAD software, 3-D modeling, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop & InDesign,
MS Word & Excel.
