We are looking for a Maintenance Foreman to run a crew on a dedicated route of high-end residential properties.
The right person notices the shrub that is starting to decline before the homeowner does, and knows the difference between a property that is just mowed and a property that is cared for.
What You'll Do
- Lead a 2 person crew day to day, assign work, set pace, and hold quality
- Manage a fixed route of residential properties from spring cleanup through fall
- Perform and direct all-inclusive care: mowing and detail work, bed maintenance, pruning and weed control, seasonal color, mulching, and cleanups
- Inspect properties on each visit and flag plant health issues, irrigation problems, and enhancement opportunities
- Communicate directly with homeowners on site - professionally and confidently
- Operate and maintain mowers, trimmers, blowers, and small equipment; report issues before they become breakdowns
- Keep the truck and trailer organized, loaded correctly, and street-legal
- Enforce safe work practices for the entire crew
What You Need
- 5+ years in landscape maintenance, including at least 1 year leading a crew
- Solid plant knowledge - able to identify common Midwest ornamentals and prune correctly by species and season
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record; comfortable towing a trailer
- Ability to work outdoors in all conditions and lift 50 lbs repeatedly
- Reliable transportation to our Evanston yard for a consistent 7am start
- Professional presence around clients and their homes
Preferred
- Illinois pesticide applicator or operator license (we will help you get licensed if you don't have one)
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Snow and ice management experience for winter work
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Benefits:
- Opportunities for advancement
- Paid time off
- Safety equipment provided
Work Location: In person
