BASIC SCOPE AND PURPOSE: Working in conjunction with company management and the Main Shop in Westminster, the Martinsburg Concrete Plant Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance of the plant based fleet vehicles, shop facilities and related equipment.
REPRESENTATIVE FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND/OR TASKS:

Safety
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment
- Enforce company/industry rules related to all recognized safety standards.
- Maintain shop and repair equipment in good clean working order.
Functional Duties
Perform timely repairs with minimal supervision to equipment while ensuring safe and reliable performance.
- Maintain fleet to meet or exceed all applicable State and Federal Safety Standards
- Coordinate with Dispatch personnel to achieve maximum “up time” for mixer fleet
- Initiate breakdown investigations
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, suspensions, drive-trains, cab and chassis and welding.
- Ensure quality of repairs performed by Assistant/Apprentice Mechanics
- Work weekends and overtime as required
Administrative Duties
Complete and turn in required paperwork each day for maintenance performed and mechanic hours allocated to each item on the Mechanics Daily Report.
- Oversee and approve competitive purchasing of parts, materials and services.
- Maintain adequate inventory of commonly used parts/components.
- Allocate each purchase to the truck/ activity for which it was utilized

Other responsibilities as assigned by division management.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 45 per week

Experience:
- Diesel engine repair: 1 year (Preferred)
- Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Preferred)
