Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Class A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of trucks to deliver freight efficiently and on time. Your expertise will ensure that goods are transported securely across routes, adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. Responsibilities
- Safely operate Box trucks, including those with manual transmissions, refrigerated trailers.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring cargo integrity and safety.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, maintaining punctuality and optimizing fuel usage.
- Document delivery details accurately in logs, including mileage, cargo details, and delivery confirmations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate pickups and deliveries while providing excellent customer service.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during route driving.
- shift schedule generally begins at 3 a.m. and is Tuesday - Saturday, with Saturday being a shorter day.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license ( class A CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in truck driving, including delivery driver experience with route driving responsibilities.
- Ability to load & unload freight safely using equipment like forklifts or manual methods.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to freight transportation and vehicle maintenance.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently and manage time effectively.
