Description
Britannia Yachting Center is seeking seasonal full and part time Dockhands for positions that could lead to year-round employment.
The Dockhand is responsible for assisting the marina team in order to serve marina customers and guests by performing a variety of tasks including but not limited to general operation of the docks and assisting boaters. The Dockhand must work to maintain a safe and clean environment throughout marina facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide Britannia Yachting Center members with the best experience possible.
- Greet all customers in a manner that expresses a kind, courteous and professional character
- Help orient members and guests to the marina, facilities, and answer other commonly asked questions.
- Assist customers with general boating needs.
- Maintain and clean restrooms, docks, walkways, grounds and other areas designated by management.
- Ensure docks and equipment are operational at all times.
- Comply with OSHA regulations, environmental regulations, and adhere to all site rules and expectations.
- Availability to work overtime when required.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Other duties as assigned by Manager.
Safety and Environmental Responsibilities
- Follow BYC Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.
- Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area.
- Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.
Technical and Physical Requirements
· Valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to work safely around the water.
- Must be able to swim.
- Ability to lift 30 pounds.
- Basic boat handling skills preferred.
- Previous marina experience preferred.
- Previous customer service experience preferred.
