About us
Financialese is a fractional CFO and outsourced accounting firm built for alternative lenders, emerging fund managers, and real estate investors. Our client roster includes MCA portfolios, private credit funds, multi-entity partnership structures, and warehouse credit facilities — work that looks a lot more like a fund administrator's or lender's finance function than standard bookkeeping. Things move quickly here.
We're a lean, senior-heavy team and were looking to expand. This position was created because our client roster is growing, and we fill these seats through internal promotion rather than hiring around our own people.
Your responsibilities
- Support monthly close for a group of clients, handling reconciliations through preparation of draft financials
- Work hands-on with partnership accounting basics — maintaining capital accounts, preparing allocation schedules, tracking distributions, and contributing to multi-entity consolidation work
- Help prepare lender and investor reporting, including borrowing base calculations and compliance tracking for credit facilities
- Produce organized, clearly documented workpapers that hold up under senior review
- Handle routine client communication directly, with senior team backup available for anything more complex
What we need from you
- 2 to 4 years of accounting experience, preferably touching partnerships, funds, or alternative lending (fund administration, private credit, MCA, or real estate structures are all relevant — candidates from public accounting or GL-heavy backgrounds looking to specialize in this space are also welcome)
- A track record of owning your piece of the work, plus the judgment to know when to escalate versus when to figure it out yourself
- Comfort with QuickBooks Online and Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and reconciliation work
- Professional, clear writing and the confidence to sit in on client calls
- Working toward a CPA is a nice-to-have, not a dealbreaker
What's in it for you
- Competitive base pay with a clear path toward more senior, client-facing responsibility
- Real exposure to fund launches, credit facility work, and deal activity that most accountants at this career stage never see
- Guidance from a senior team that believes in documenting processes, not burning out employees
- Flexibility to work remotely
If you want to develop genuine expertise in fund and lender accounting instead of just moving transactions through a system, let's talk.
