PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT (The physical demands and work

Work is performed primarily in an indoor environment or covered/enclosed environment. Work
frequently requires, sitting, standing for prolonged periods, walking, stooping, bending and kneeling.
Also, work frequently requires lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds, reaching with
hands and arms in front of body and overhead, and using hands and fingers to operate food service
equipment and office. Work frequently exposes employee to hot surfaces, sharp cutting instruments,
and to potential chemical hazards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Work requires some experience in commercial or institutional food preparation. Work experience
should include the following knowledge, abilities, and skills:
- Some knowledge of the principles, practices and methods of preparing and serving foods.
- Some knowledge of health, sanitary and safety practices involved in food preparation.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Skill in the preparation and serving of food and beverages.
- Skill in the operation of a cash register, and in making rapid calculations.
Must establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, other employees,
customers and the general public.
