Duties
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by checking vital signs and observing for changes in condition or behavior
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
- Use proper manual handling techniques and patient transfer methods, including Hoyer lifts, to ensure safe movement
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient care activities, observations, and updates in compliance with healthcare standards
- Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive environment that promotes well-being
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or in senior care environments such as nursing homes or assisted living facilities
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer's and memory care), and hospice or home health care practices
- Ability to perform cleaning duties to maintain a safe and hygienic environment for residents or clients
- Familiarity with medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts, blood pressure monitors, and other patient monitoring tools
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly preferred; ongoing training in HIPAA compliance is advantageous
- Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is a plus
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams
