Property & Field Operations Technician (Part-Time)
Pay: $18.00 per hour
We're looking for someone who likes working with their hands and enjoys doing something different every day. We help families prepare homes and estates for auction and sale, and we're looking for someone who wants to be part of that process.
This is a part-time, as-needed position with a flexible weekday schedule. Some weeks may be close to full-time, while other weeks may only have one day of work. Work is generally scheduled Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
What You'll Do
Every day is a little different. Responsibilities may include:
- Cleaning out homes by removing unwanted items and loading dumpsters or trailers (this is not a house cleaning position)
- Moving furniture, appliances, boxes, and household contents
- Installing, removing, and maintaining real estate signs throughout the Kansas City metro area
- Changing signs for open houses, pending sales, and sold properties
- Completing basic handyman and property maintenance tasks
- Helping prepare homes and properties for auction or sale
- Driving company vehicles between job sites
- Working independently as well as with a team
The Day-to-Day
No two days are exactly alike. You might spend one day hauling furniture and debris from a home, another day putting out real estate signs, and another helping with property repairs or preparing a home for auction. Some jobs are physically demanding, some are dirty, and some are simply routine—but you'll end each day knowing you accomplished something.
Because our work takes us all over the region, you'll spend time in neighborhoods and communities throughout the Kansas City metro and beyond, covering roughly a two-hour radius from downtown Kansas City. If you like getting out of the office instead of staring at the same four walls every day, you'll probably enjoy the variety this job offers.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who:
- Has a positive attitude and a strong work ethic
- Is dependable and shows up when they say they will
- Enjoys physical work and can safely lift at least 75 pounds
- Is comfortable working in attics, basements, garages, outdoors, and in all kinds of weather
- Can follow directions while also using good judgment when working independently
- Is organized and able to think through projects from start to finish
- Gets along well with clients and coworkers
- Has a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record
- Can pass a criminal background check
Experience with handyman work and using common hand and power tools is a plus, but it's not required. We're happy to train someone who has the right attitude and is willing to learn.
Who This Job Is Good For
This position is a good fit for someone who enjoys staying active, likes variety, and takes pride in getting things done. It's ideal for someone who doesn't want to sit behind a desk all day and would rather be out working on different projects in different locations.
Interested in Real Estate?
If you're curious about the real estate or auction business, this position offers the chance to see how both industries work from the inside. You'll work alongside experienced professionals and gain exposure to everything from preparing properties for sale to auctions and real estate marketing.
If you decide to pursue a real estate license on your own and prove to be a good fit for our team, there may be opportunities to grow into additional roles within the company.
