As a Photographer III you will communicate the St. Jude story through photography that meets ALSAC's creative, storytelling, and documentation needs. Reports to the Head of Photography and serves as a lead photographer, curator, advisor, and visual storyteller for assigned fundraising and awareness initiatives. Mentors and advises interns, contract photographers, and junior team members, providing timely and constructive feedback to elevate the quality of work. Assists in the development and implementation of process and technology strategies that deliver cost-efficient, effective imaging services in support of ALSAC's overarching strategic plan.
Bachelor's degree in Photography, Communications, or a related field, with 8-10 years of relevant experience.
Proven ability to create compelling, effective photography that achieves assigned objectives while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Expert-level proficiency in photography fundamentals, lighting, retouching, and related technologies.
Hands-on experience in photography, retouching, and editing.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external audiences; thorough knowledge of English spelling, grammar, and usage; ability to understand complex verbal and written instructions; and excellent photography skills, including image capture, editing, and retouching.
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Photo Mechanic, Microsoft Office applications, and other assigned software.
Skilled in presentation software, including Microsoft PowerPoint and Apple Keynote.
Competency in the Mac operating system.
Demonstrates professional, clear, and effective communication skills, both written and interpersonal.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage conflict in a calm and professional manner.
Highly organized and able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure.
Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and accountability in response to assignments.
Maintains current knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends.
Ability to work extended and irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while consistently meeting deadlines.
This position is based at ALSAC’s National Executive Office in Memphis, TN and is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
