This company is a small business seeking experienced manual drivers preferably but also automatic drivers that know how to pave, mill, haul concrete, dirt, and salt. Must be able to communicate well, use a GPS, and able to fill out work logbooks. Pay starts at $25.00 but can get to $30.00 per hour. Pay is weekly. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS BEING ON TIME. Two work shifts available: Day & Night with some Saturday work.
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Dump Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting materials to and from job sites while ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the dump truck. This role requires a strong understanding of various truck types, including manual transmission vehicles, and the ability to navigate different delivery routes effectively.
Duties
- Operate dump trucks to transport materials as needed.
- Load and unload freight safely and efficiently, ensuring proper weight distribution.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety compliance.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes taken, and materials delivered.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving on designated routes.
- Communicate effectively with direct supervisors, dispatchers, and site managers regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during transport.
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the truck to uphold company standards.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Experience in truck driving, particularly with dump trucks.
- Familiarity with manual transmission in addition to automatic vehicles is preferred.
- Previous experience as a dumb truck delivery driver or in freight transportation is a plus.
- Ability to safely load and unload as needed.
- Strong knowledge of route driving techniques and navigation skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well under pressure.
