Purpose
The Material Handler will facilitate and support efficient production by managing the distribution of raw materials needed by multiple batches, by using the ERP system and reports to sequence the use of these raw materials.
Scope
· Operates lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas.
· Retrieving raw materials out of the warehouse using a forklift to place them in the designated staging area.
· Providing batch makers with materials needed to produce batches. Some raw materials will be needed by multiple batches and will need to be sequenced to avoid batch makers needed the same raw material at the same time.
· Stocking finished products after production in the Finished Goods Warehouse.
· Maintaining inventory accuracy.
· Performs data entry into computer system necessary to track various aspects of goods.
· Placing used raw materials that have been placed in the “put away” staging location back into storage.
· Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
· Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
· Staging raw materials for the next day’s production.
· Conduct regular inventory cycle counts.
Skills and Competencies
· Forklift experience-Aisle Master/Bendi (narrow aisle forklift) preferred.
· Warehousing experience preferred.
· ERP/Warehouse scanning system experience preferred.
· Knowledge of our products/raw materials preferred.
· Experience driving a non-CDL box truck preferred. (Illinois license holders need a Class C Non-CDL license).
· Strong communication and teamwork skills.
· Ability to effectively understand and use inventory management system.
· Strong attention to detail for quality control and assurance.
· Ability to perform material inspections and documentation reviews.
Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
