American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a 13-week contract at an acute care hospital in Austin, TX, requiring at least 1 year of recent PT experience and active PT licensure.

Hospital-based inpatient physical therapy position, treating patients across all units of a 364-bed facility
-
PT department is located on 5 Central (Rehab Office)

Day shift schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
-
Team consists of approximately 10–12 PTs on weekdays and 6–8 PTs on weekends
-
1 weekend shift per month required, with compensatory days off during the week
-
No call requirements
-
EMR: Meditech
-
13-week contract duration
-
Active PT license required (license required if applicable)
-
Current BLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)

Minimum 1 year of recent acute care PT experience required

Must have active clinical experience within the last 6 months in the PT role
-
No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; no local candidates will be considered

SSN and DOB required for consideration

One professional reference required (two required for candidates from Florida or Missouri)

Primary responsibilities include patient evaluations with discharge recommendations and treatment delivery to achieve established goals

Trauma, cardiac, oncology, and critical care experience is preferred but not required
-
Vestibular therapy experience is a nice-to-have skill
-
Required scrub attire: black pants and olive green tops
-
The PT team is known for collaborative support and broad clinical expertise across specialties

Permanent positions may be available on this unit following the travel assignment
