Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and kitchen management, with experience in the food industry. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Head Chef with menu planning, overseeing kitchen operations, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety. This position requires excellent team management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and development, ensuring creativity and seasonal relevance.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure optimal performance and teamwork.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and safety in accordance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Help manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste.
- Participate in special events or catering services as required by the restaurant.
- Assist in maintaining kitchen equipment and cleanliness to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a restaurant setting.
- Strong knowledge of food production techniques and kitchen management practices.
- Experience with menu planning and food presentation is highly desirable.
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team.
- Familiarity with restaurant management software is a plus.
- Bartending experience is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Strong communication skills and a passion for culinary excellence.
