Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented AutoCAD Drafter/CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings and programming CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce complex components with high accuracy. Your expertise will drive efficient production processes, ensuring that designs are translated seamlessly into high-quality parts. Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks, ensuring all specifications meet project requirements and industry standards.
- Program CNC machines, including lathes and milling machines, utilizing CAM software and G-code to produce parts accurately and efficiently.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings, applying GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles for precise manufacturing.
- Set up and operate CNC equipment such as Fanuc controls, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for quality assurance.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize tooling, fixtures, and machining parameters for improved productivity.
- Conduct precision measurements using calipers, bore gauges, micrometers, and other precision instruments to verify part dimensions against specifications.
- Maintain detailed documentation of programming procedures, setup instructions, and inspection reports to ensure traceability and quality compliance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in AutoCAD drafting combined with CNC programming skills for milling machines and CNC lathes.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in machining processes such as EDM, CNC milling, and turning operations.
- Proficiency in CAD software including SolidWorks and CATIA; experience with CAM programming is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, GD&T standards, and the use of precision measuring instruments like bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges.
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls, Lean manufacturing principles, and tools used in high-precision manufacturing environments.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately while applying geometric concepts to ensure part quality.
