About the Role
Our Veterinary Technician Assistants keep the clinic running. You'll be assigned to our wellness or surgery team based on clinic need, with cross-training over time. This is a hands-on support role — you keep rooms turning, supplies stocked, suites prepped, and the building clean and safe so the medical team never has to slow down. You'll report to our Clinical Manager and work alongside veterinarians, RVTs, and veterinary assistants who train and support you.
What You'll Do
Wellness support
- Reset and restock exam rooms between appointments so the schedule stays on time
- Package laboratory samples for send-out and prepare samples for in-house testing
- Collect and deliver supplies for the veterinary teams throughout the day
- Fill prescriptions from the pharmacy label printer once trained
- Handle daily facility care: trash, laundry, break room, and restrooms
Surgery support
- Prepare surgical suites each morning: warming devices, table setup, scrub and supply stocking, and verifying surgical packs against the day's roster
- Assist with patient restraint for exams and technician procedures
- Break down and disinfect suites at close: monitors and leads, dental equipment, instrument cleaning, and pack wrapping
- Keep surgical areas organized, stocked, and floor-ready for the next day
Every role includes stocking and organizing during downtime, weekly deep-cleaning tasks, and pitching in wherever the team needs you.

Requirements
- Previous kennel experience or veterinary assistant experience preferred; enthusiasm for animal care is essential
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic medical procedures
- Experience with dog handling, animal restraint techniques, and pet care routines
- Ability to perform laboratory tasks such as sample processing and record keeping accurately
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques, medication administration, IV insertion, and catheterization is advantageous
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Commitment to animal welfare and safety protocols including PPE use and proper animal handling practices
