Overview
Lenity Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Care is excited to launch our Neurology Department and is seeking an experienced and compassionate Neurology Veterinary Technician to help build this new service alongside our neurologist, who will be joining our team in September.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of a growing specialty hospital from the beginning, helping establish workflows, protocols, and a collaborative team dedicated to providing exceptional neurologic care. Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs) are strongly preferred, and candidates should have previous experience working in veterinary neurology.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about advanced patient care. They will work closely with the neurologist in delivering outstanding medical, surgical, and nursing care to neurology patients while contributing to the continued growth and success of the department.
Duties
- Assist the neurologist during examinations, diagnostic procedures, and neurosurgical procedures.
- Prepare and monitor patients for MRI, CT, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) collection, electrodiagnostic testing, and surgery.
- Perform anesthesia monitoring and recovery for neurologic patients.
- Administer medications, treatments, and intravenous fluids as directed by the veterinarian.
- Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, laboratory sample collection, and diagnostic imaging support.
- Monitor hospitalized neurology patients and accurately assess neurologic status, pain, and changes in condition.
- Provide exceptional nursing care before, during, and after procedures.
- Educate clients regarding treatment plans, medications, discharge instructions, and home care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.
- Ensure examination rooms, treatment areas, and surgical suites remain clean, organized, and fully stocked.
- Collaborate closely with the emergency, surgery, internal medicine, and nursing teams to provide seamless patient care.
- Assist in developing and implementing department workflows and best practices as the neurology service grows.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous veterinary neurology experience is required.
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license preferred.
- Strong understanding of neurologic diseases, diagnostics, and patient assessment.
- Experience with anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery.
- Knowledge of advanced patient monitoring and critical care nursing.
- Proficiency with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, laboratory sample collection, and medication administration.
- Ability to recognize subtle neurologic changes and communicate findings effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple patients in a fast-paced specialty environment.
- Strong communication and client education skills.
- A positive, collaborative attitude and enthusiasm for helping build a new specialty department from the ground up.

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
