JOB SUMMARY
The Lead Caregiver provides mentorship and support through consistent communication, training, development, and engagement to Mentee care staff. Lead Caregivers will share caregiving knowledge, resources, and experiences with their less experienced peers, guiding mentees in their new caregiving role.

- Ensures the quality of client care and service by using specialized knowledge and judgment to assure client care standards comply with client plan of care and Agency policies

Coaching/Training:
- Evaluate and supervise Mentees for conformity with professional standards of in-home care, in accordance with state specific home care requirements
- Actively engages in training and new hire orientation in order to demonstrate professional home care standards
- Provides in-field orientation and in-services for Mentees during their first 90 days
- Provides guidance, recommendations, and suggestions to mentees for problem solving
- Provides feedback to Management to assist with Mentee performance
Excellence Standards:
- Performs or supervises care management activities for individual clients, including but not limited to in-home document reviews, coaching and development and identifying the need to update the care plan or tasks sheet
- Maintains compliance to all Agency care and administrative policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
- Reviews client/caregiver notes to ensure compliance and quality in documentation and care
- Manages company client in-home satisfaction survey programs by promoting participation, reviewing results and making recommendations to the management team on improving the quality of care
- Documents care issues and/or events per office policy

EDUCATION / SKILLS / ABILITIES / AVAILABILITY
- High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred
- Home care experience required
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Meets the requirements for employees providing direct patient care
- Read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
- Computer experience with data entry, word processing and Microsoft Windows® based software preferred
- Has a valid driver’s license and use of an insured automobile for work or access to adequate transportation
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Regular visits to client’s home in residential or care facility setting
- May occasionally work in an office setting
