Founded in 2025, Round 2 Tai Chi is Houston's top destination for authentic Yang Style Tai Chi. Learn not just the slow moving Long Form,but the complete martial art of Tai Chi from an instructor with over 25 years of experience. We teach in a small group format because good Tai Chi is not an assembly line product, but a process of understanding principles hands-on and up close at your own pace. Our studio is setup with a cozy design that is ideal for all kinds of meditative pursuits; seated, standing, or moving.
Round 2 Tai Chi is in search of a Yoga Instructor who is looking to branch out on their own or take their existing practice to the next level. The ideal instructor will realize that Sizzle is useless without Steak arriving shortly afterwards, and focuses on providing an outstanding experience for their clients in manner, quality and degree of instruction, and personal attention. This is a self-starting position for a motivated individual.
Position Duties:
- Teach a mutually-agreed upon Yoga (or related) curriculum in a public storefront format
- Develop a in-person class schedule for at least 5 hours of instruction weekly
- Work with Round 2 Tai Chi management to help establish, maintain, and advertise your schedule and services
- Work with Round 2 Tai Chi management to help refer clients between practices if it best fits their needs
- Help maintain the studio's cleanliness and readiness between classes
Requirements:
- Yoga Instructor certification or demonstrable equivalent experience
- Ability to lift items up to 20 pounds
- Detail-oriented
- Strong communication skills
Preferences:
- 10+ years teaching experience
- Walk-in class teaching experience
- Experience with non-mainstream Yoga traditions (ex - Kundalini Yoga)
- Experience teaching meditation or Qi Gong
This is technically a 1099 position for insurance purposes, but you will effectively be your own agent operating your own practice in tandem with us. As such, the income listings in this position are a guideline and will vary based on attendance and pricing structure. This listing is for one instructor, but a second position may be available for an outstanding candidate.
Pay: $8.00 - $30.00 per hour
