We are currently seeking a Civil Construction Project Manager (Owners Rep Capacity) to support multiple greenfield and brownfield industrial and civil construction projects for our client, a leading steel manufacturer, and supplier to the oil and gas industry.
This project assignment will be based in Midland, TX (12-18 months) and will work directly with our client's construction project management team and vendors to provide leadership and administration. Additionally, will work directly with our client's construction project management team and vendors to provide leadership and administration. In this role, the selected candidate will:
- Oversee construction site work and utility services. Site work encompasses all preparatory activities required before vertical construction can begin, including land clearing, excavation, grading, and the installation of essential underground systems.
- This role involves supporting the installation and coordination of utilities such as water, sewer, gas, electrical, fire protection, and stormwater management. These services ensure that the construction site is fully prepared with the necessary infrastructure, allowing the project to progress smoothly, remain on schedule, and comply with all relevant standards and regulations.
· Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans that outline timelines, milestones, and resource allocation to guide the construction process.
· Budget Management: Manage the project’s budget, including cost estimation, control, and financial forecasting to ensure completion within budgetary constraints.
· Team Coordination: Coordinate and lead project teams, including architects, engineers, and subcontractors, to ensure effective collaboration.
· Contract Administration: Negotiate contracts with and manage the procurement of materials, equipment, and services from suppliers and contractors.
· Quality Control: Oversee on-site activities to monitor progress, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and maintain quality control.
· Communication: Serve as the primary communicator between all stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and addressing any concerns.
- Responsible for administering all site-related duties; project safety, the scope of work, schedule, cost estimate, cost reports, project staffing, project team performance, construction, invoicing, and quality plan
Qualifications
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of industry standards and design criteria within the industrial and civil construction field.
- Knowledge of proposals and bid processes.
- Proficient technical ability and awareness
- Proficient knowledge of project engineering processes and procedures
- Proficient execution planning skills
- Strong knowledge of HSE procedures and practices
- Strong in organizing and managing complex construction activities.
- Working knowledge of project control systems.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, thorough documentation skills
- Understands contract terms.
- Focuses on EPC results.
- Requires basic knowledge of administrative practices and company standard.
Job Requirements
- · BS in Civil Engineering and equivalent experience in the industrial construction field with a minimum of 3-5 years experience performing various functions with an emphasis on heavy industrial facilities
- Familiar with US construction codes and standards
- Proficient in MS Office suite. Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Project. Intermediate-level knowledge of computer applications and other engineering tools.
