Responsibilities
-
Diagnostics: Use computerized diagnostic equipment and software to accurately troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.

Repairs: Perform major and minor repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, braking systems, and steering components.

Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine safety inspections, oil changes, and preventative maintenance (PM) schedules to ensure equipment reliability.

Compliance: Ensure all repairs meet strict federal, state, and company safety standards. Accurately document services in our electronic fleet management program.

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Becks’ equipment as assigned.

Assist with commercial vehicle repairs and maintenance.

Communicate activities, problems and potential solutions to supervisor.

Maintain accurate service records on all pieces of equipment.

Perform general farm and general seed duties as assigned.

Perform any other jobs necessary to help make Beck’s operation a success.
Job Requirements

Education and training:
-
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
-
Formal Technical Skills Training preferred
Ability to obtain Class A CDL - - Hazmat preferred

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record as determined by Beck’s automobile insurance policy.

Technical knowledge:
-
Basic equipment knowledge and mechanical skills.
-
Specialized training on maintenance and repair of farm equipment and/or road equipment.
3. Travel and hours of work:
- Overnight travel may be required based on project needs at Beck’s regional locations and may vary in duration of time.
4. Physical demands:
-
Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds unassisted
-
May be required to pass respiratory medical clearance evaluation.

Ability to pass DOT physical examination and obtain Medical Examiner’s Certificate required.
5. Experience:
-
Experience as a Diesel/Gas Truck Mechanic.
-
Small engine and fork truck experience a plus.
