Job Summary
State Line Fire Protection is a small family owned local company growing at a rapid pace and based in Kansas City, MO. We are expanding our operations through out Missouri and Kansas. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fire Sprinkler Service Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, inspecting (FDC Hydro's, internal inspections), and repairing fire sprinkler systems across various customer sites and facilities. Your expertise will ensure that fire suppression systems operate efficiently and in compliance with all NFPA standards and codes. There will be some overnight travel needed for repairs. This role will perform attic work some days with repairs, troubleshooting air leaks, replacing piping, patching pipe, and replacing air compressors.
Responsibilities
- Repair, troubleshoot, and inspect fire sprinkler systems.
- Perform pipe fitting, pipe threading, tube bending, and patch applications.
- Interpret schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute system layouts as needed.
- Conduct routine internal inspections and maintenance of sprinkler systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools
- Fabricate components as needed for system modifications or repairs.
- Crawl through small attic spaces to find leaks and make the repairs
- Measure and replace dry sprinkler heads.
- Follow safety regulations diligently during all phases of service and maintenance work while maintaining awareness of OSHA safety standards.
- Collaborate with scheduling manager and other trades to coordinate service schedules and ensure seamless work order execution.
- Document work performed through detailed reports, logs, and inspection records to maintain compliance with industry standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in fire sprinkler fitting or related construction trades with a strong understanding of plumbing, pipefitting, or HVAC systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans accurately.
- Mechanical knowledge of sprinkler systems, piping materials, NFPA standards (National Fire Protection Association), ASME codes & standards.
- Familiarity with power tools and hand tools a must.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to sites or manufacturing environments; committed to safety protocol adherence.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to pipe installation and fabrication tasks.
- Experience interpreting technical drawings or schematics related to plumbing or fire protection systems is preferred.
- Construction site experience or manufacturing background is advantageous; familiarity with pipeline assembly or HVAC systems is a plus.
- Must have a clean driving record and background.
- NICET II - preferred but not required. Must be able to obtain with in 6 months for level I and 2 years for level II
- Backflow license preferred but not required. Must obtain with in 6 months from hire date.
- At least four (4) years of documented experience installing, inspecting, testing, maintaining, and repairing fire protection systems (wet, and dry systems)

Pay: $35.12 - $45.33 per hour
