Our client, a global office furniture manufacturer in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking a Production Supervisor for a 12-month contract-to-hire position!
This position will start off on a contract basis with the intent to convert to a permanent employee.

This role is ideal for a hands-on manufacturing leader with experience managing production teams, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and operational excellence. This position has contract-to-hire potential, converting from an hourly contract role to an exempt salaried position upon successful hire.
Position Overview:
- Lead a production division from raw materials through finished goods while ensuring production schedules are achieved.
- Supervise, coach, and develop a team of 20–30 hourly production employees.
- Participate in a leadership rotational program.
- Partner with Operations Managers to manage costs and achieve operational objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and labor regulations.
- Drive quality improvements and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Provide Operations Manager coverage as needed.
- Lead special projects and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain flexibility to support multiple manufacturing areas based on business needs.

- Experience with Lean Manufacturing initiatives
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and projects
- Experience in continuous improvement environments
Education Required:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent military leadership experience
