This position plays an essential role in the daily life of a school by providing outstanding customer service, supporting students and families, assisting school administration, and ensuring office operations run smoothly. Whether you're welcoming visitors, helping a new family enroll, managing attendance, or assisting with school events, your work helps create a positive experience for everyone who walks through the doors.
As an Office Specialist II, you will:

Support student success by assisting with attendance, registration, student records, and a variety of student services.

Serve as a dependable resource for school staff while helping maintain an organized and responsive front office.

This dynamic position combines customer service, organization, technology, and student support. Key responsibilities include:

Greeting visitors, answering phones, and providing excellent customer service to students, families, staff, and community members.

Supporting school administration with office operations, scheduling, communications, and special projects.

Assisting with student registration, attendance, records, and other confidential information.

Preparing correspondence, newsletters, announcements, reports, and other school communications.

Managing office supplies, records, and routine administrative processes.

Assisting with school events, student lunch services, homework requests, and other student support activities.

Training and supporting student office aides.
-
Maintaining confidentiality while working accurately in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
This is a full-time position (8 hours per day) that requires flexibility, strong organizational skills, and the ability to balance multiple priorities throughout the school day. The hourly rate is $18.42 to $23.77 per hour (Column I of the 2025-26 Classified Wage Schedule).

High School Diploma or GED.

Two years of secretarial, administrative support, or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Bilingual or multilingual skills are preferred, particularly the ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish. Candidates who successfully pass the District's bilingual proficiency assessment and serve as an interpreter will receive a 5% bilingual differential.

Strong communication, organizational, computer, and customer service skills.

Prior experience working in a school office setting is preferred.
