Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Standup Forklift Operator/Reach Truck Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating standup forklifts and reach trucks to efficiently handle materials, load and unload shipments, and organize inventory within a fast-paced distribution environment. Your expertise will ensure smooth warehouse operations, accurate order picking, and timely shipping and receiving processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a well-organized warehouse while utilizing your heavy equipment operation skills and warehouse management knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate standup forklifts, reach trucks, Hi-Lo, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to move materials throughout the warehouse
- Load and unload shipments with precision, ensuring proper handling of heavy loads and adherence to safety standards
- Conduct routine equipment inspections, perform basic repairs or notify maintenance for mechanical issues to minimize downtime
- Assist with order picking using various equipment such as <PERSON> pickers and order picker machines to fulfill customer orders accurately
- Support warehouse management system (WMS) data entry by updating inventory records and tracking movement of goods
- Organize storage areas efficiently, utilizing warehouse distribution best practices for optimal space utilization
- Follow OSHA safety guidelines diligently during all operations to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as standup forklifts, reach trucks, Hi-Lo, clamp trucks, or similar warehouse machinery
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS), shipping & receiving procedures, and materials handling techniques
- Mechanical knowledge related to forklift operation and basic equipment repair is highly desirable
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts, load weights, and measurements
- Prior experience in warehouse distribution or logistics environments preferred; warehouse supervisor experience is a plus
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards relevant to forklift operation and heavy lifting procedures
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills for order picking and inventory management
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads regularly and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced setting
