Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our lively HVAC office. In this vital role, you will manage day-to-day financial recordkeeping, ensure accuracy in all accounting transactions, and support the preparation of financial reports. Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions using Quickbooks and various online portals related to payables and receivables.
- Perform bank reconciliations (as needed/requested by Accountant) to ensure consistency between bank statements and ledger entries.
- Work under the Accountant to prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper classification in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment tracking.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting to verify account accuracy.
- Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental reporting requirements as needed with our Accountant.
- Support budgeting activities by analyzing account data and preparing financial reports for management review.
- Ensure compliance with financial concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and account analysis.
- Perform account reconciliation tasks including general ledger reconciliation and account analysis to identify discrepancies.
- Contribute to financial report writing by compiling data for internal and external stakeholders.
- Execute accounts payable functions by verifying invoices, processing payments, and maintaining vendor records. Must work closely with Service Lead and Installation Lead.
- Handle miscellaneous bookkeeping duties.
Experience
- At least 5 years experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles within corporate or non-profit organizations.
- Strong proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Knowledge of governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices is desirable.
- Familiarity with GAAP guidelines and technical accounting concepts including journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger management.
- Experience in bank reconciliation, payroll processing, tax preparation, and financial report writing is highly valued.
- Ability to perform detailed account analysis while maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines.
- Excellent understanding of debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping principles, and financial concepts related to balance sheet reconciliation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks such as budgeting support and account analysis efficiently.
- Ability to work closely with our Accountant and the rest of our office staff which includes 2 engineers, service lead, and installation project lead/office manager.
Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
