Position: Tree Climber (IC)

Responsibilities:
- Climb trees over 80 ft using industry approved equipment
- Properly shape, trim, prune, and remove trees and shrubs from the ground, using ropes, or using heavy equipment such as an aerial bucket lift or crane
- Safely operate and maintain specialized industry equipment such as a chipper, mini track loader, aerial bucket lift, chip trucks, chainsaws, and hand tools
- Assist groundsmen in tasks such as dragging brush, chipping, and cleanup
- Load and unload trucks with logs, brush, and debris, and/or feed brush into chipper
- Utilize a variety of industry approved knots
- Safely lower branches using ropes and pulleys
- Enforce important safety practices that protect employees and the public from hazards on the jobsite (i.e. direct traffic, use of PPE)
- Install cables, braces, and lightning protection systems
- Accurately log time on-site using an approved program
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Provide excellent customer service by being friendly, helpful, and helpful at all times.
- Maintain a positive attitude towards teammates and customers.
- Maintain a positive work environment by following policies, rules, and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Highschool diploma or GED
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Valid driver's license with access to reliable transportation
- Experience in tree climbing, rigging, aerial bucket truck work, and crane removals, or is a certified arborist
- Ability to work well autonomously and with a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
- Perform in all weather conditions and all seasons
- Able and willing to comply with all safety procedures and protective gear
- Wiling and open to learning new tasks and working outside of your knowledge comfort zone
- Must carry insurance and provide own climbing gear
- Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and quality of work
- Exceptional problem solving and reasoning skills
Pay: $400.00 - $600.00 per day
