Job Summary
Dream Firms is building a dedicated Practice Sales division to help entrepreneurial accountants sell their firms for premium valuations. We’re looking for a senior broker to own this new brokerage P&L: design and document the end‑to‑end process, close deals in the $500K–$10M range, and build a small team of high‑performing brokers. This is a full‑time, remote US role with no equity but aggressive performance-based upside (target OTE $200K–$300K+ once the division is running). If you have a track record of closing lower middle‑market deals and you’re ready to build a brokerage engine instead of just running someone else’s playbook, this is your seat.
Responsibilities:
P&L Ownership
- Own the financial performance of the Practice Sales division (revenue, costs, profit).
- Set and hit annual targets for transaction volume and brokerage fees.
- Process Design & Execution
Process Design & Execution
- Build and document a repeatable process from:
Listing → Valuation → Packaging → Buyer pipeline → LOI → Close.
- Implement pipeline and KPI tracking in our CRM
Deal Making
- Source, evaluate, and sign sell-side engagements with accounting, tax, and advisory firms.
- Run or oversee negotiations, deal structures, and closing for transactions typically in the $500K – $10M range.
- Target average success fees of ~10% with appropriate minimums.
Team Building & Management
- Recruit, train, and manage a small team of brokers (3–5 over time).
- Set activity and performance KPIs (listings signed, offers generated, deals closed).
- Coach brokers to consistently hit and exceed targets.
Market & Compliance
- Stay current on practice valuation trends in the accounting / tax space.
- Ensure required licensing and regulatory compliance in applicable states.
Requirements:
Experience
- 5+ years as a business broker, practice broker, or M&A advisor working on small business or professional services deals.
- Direct experience closing multiple transactions in the $500K – $5M range.
- Prior team lead / manager experience (hiring, training, and managing producers).
Skills:
- Strong financial and valuation literacy (SDE / EBITDA, multiples, deal terms).
- Proven ability to design and run a sales / brokerage process with clear KPIs.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Other:
- US-based; eligible to work in the United States.
- Relevant brokerage / securities licensing where required by state, or willingness to obtain.
What We Offer:
- Competitive base salary plus performance-based upside
- Fully remote work environment
- Direct access to founders and the ability to shape a new division
- Strong inbound exposure to entrepreneurial accountants via our existing platform
