About the Position
Permanent Light Company is looking for reliable, hardworking Permanent Light Installers to join our team in Central Texas.
This is a hands-on installation position installing permanent, low-voltage LED lighting systems on residential properties. No electrical experience is required. Construction, handyman, roofing, framing, or other hands-on trade experience is a plus.
The right person is dependable, comfortable working at heights, willing to learn, and takes pride in clean, professional workmanship.
What You’ll Do
- Install permanent low-voltage LED lighting systems on residential homes.
- Install and secure aluminum lighting track/channel along soffits, fascia, rooflines, peaks, and other exterior areas.
- Measure, cut, fit, and mount lighting track for a clean and professional installation.
- Install LED lights into the track and route low-voltage wiring neatly and securely.
- Make and secure low-voltage wire connections according to company installation procedures.
- Use drills, impact drivers, measuring tools, metal snips, and other basic hand and power tools.
- Work from extension ladders and on elevated areas, including rooflines and two-story homes.
- Safely move ladders, tools, lighting materials, and equipment around job sites.
- Test completed lighting installations and help identify basic installation issues.
- Follow company installation standards and safety procedures.
- Keep installations clean, straight, secure, and professionally finished.
- Keep the jobsite clean and organized during and after each installation.
- Work efficiently with a crew to complete installations on schedule.
- Communicate professionally with homeowners while working at their property.
- Travel to residential job sites throughout Central Texas.
What We’re Looking For
- Entry-level candidates are welcome.
- Handyman, construction, roofing, framing, or similar hands-on experience is preferred.
- Comfortable working on ladders and at heights.
- Must not be afraid of heights.
- Comfortable working outdoors in Central Texas weather, including heat.
- Able to perform physical work throughout the installation.
- Able to repeatedly climb ladders and work at elevated heights.
- Able to stand, bend, kneel, reach, climb, and work with your hands for extended periods.
- Able to safely handle ladders, tools, and installation materials.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Reliable transportation to job sites.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and professional attitude.
Electrical Experience
Electrical experience is not required but preferred.
Basic electrical or low-voltage knowledge is a plus and can help you learn the installation process faster. Training will be provided on our specific lighting system and installation process.
Tools & Equipment
The company can assist with providing some tools needed for the job. Candidates should be prepared to have reliable transportation and be willing to obtain/use basic hand and power tools as needed.
Compensation
$1,500–$2,000+ per week based on completed installations.
This is a production-based contractor position. Earnings depend on the number and type of installations completed.
Work Area
Central Texas and surrounding areas.
This is an in-person field position requiring travel to residential job sites.
