American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Mother-Baby / Post Partum position requiring 2 years of experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Work in the Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum unit of a hospital environment
-
Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
-
13-week assignment length
-
Patient population includes post-partum vaginal and cesarean delivery, tubal ligation, circumcision, GYN surgeries, couplet care, low risk antepartum, and transition nursery
-
Weekends required to meet staffing needs
-
Floating may be required to NICU or L&D
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission

Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
-
Prior travel nursing experience required
-
Epic charting system experience required
-
Experience with blood/blood product administration, drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, and syringe pumps required
-
Experience with wound vac care required
-
Experience administering heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate required
-
OB-GYN, post-op, and post-vaginal delivery care experience required
-
Postpartum re-admission care experience required
-
Normal newborn care experience including thermoregulation and glucose management required
-
Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty required
-
Provide comprehensive postpartum and newborn care including discharge teaching, infant identification, newborn assessment, phototherapy, and thermoregulation
-
Manage pain including post-epidural care, opioid administration, and use of PCA pumps
-
Perform postpartum care and procedures including bladder assessment/Foley catheter insertion, breastfeeding instruction, episiotomy/incision care, and fundus/lochia/perineum care
-
Provide care for patients experiencing postpartum hemorrhage and pregnancy induced hypertension
-
Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

Candidates must live within 50 miles of the facility to be considered for the local pay rate
-
Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
-
First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
-
Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they live outside the 50-mile radius
-
Candidates can only be submitted to one Providence facility at a time
