As a Physical Therapist, you will play a key role in helping residents improve mobility, strength, balance, safety, and overall quality of life. Working closely with an interdisciplinary team, you will develop individualized treatment plans and provide skilled therapy services designed to help residents reach their functional goals.
- Evaluate residents and develop individualized treatment plans based on physician orders and resident needs
- Provide skilled physical therapy services to improve physical function, mobility, safety, and independence
- Monitor resident progress and adjust treatment plans as appropriate
- Collaborate with nursing staff, therapy colleagues, physicians, and other members of the care team
- Supervise and direct Physical Therapist Assistants in accordance with professional standards and regulations
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatments, and resident outcomes
- Participate as an active member of the interdisciplinary team to support high-quality resident care

Preferred Qualifications
Prefer minimum one (1) year experience in geriatric rehabilitation. Supervision, training and/or experience in a setting serving the same age/type served by this facility. Prefer membership in the American Physical Therapy Association
Minimum Qualifications
Master or Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy or Occupational Therapy. Current license/certification in the state of Mississippi. Demonstrated competency in identified areas of specialization. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Adequate computer skills in order to complete required job duties and computerized documentation. Demonstrated competency in applying principles, methods, materials and equipment used in physical therapy. Knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance requirements.
Physical Requirements
Ability to walk, bend, drive, stand, sit and reach constantly during an eight (8) hour day/shift. Ability to speak and hear to understand and give directions. Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to assess and monitor patient/resident needs, maintain accurate records, understand directions and recognize people. Fine and gross motor skills. Ability to push wheeled equipment throughout the facility and in the community. Work endurance ability to work eight (8) hour days/shifts. Ability to participate in sustained activity for up to three and one-half (3.5) hours at a time. Reading and comprehension skills for analyzing reports, charts and correspondence. Possesses highly developed communication and problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions: Typical therapy clinic environment. Strong organizational skills in order to effectively maintain multiple projects simultaneously. Requires creativity as well as the ability to work independently. Ability to be discreet and maintain confidential information.
