Duties
- Design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote literacy, numeracy, social skills, and physical activity aligned with early childhood education standards
- Foster a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages positive behavior management and respectful interactions among children
- Support children’s developmental milestones through tailored activities focusing on cognitive, emotional, and physical growth
- Collaborate with parents and caregivers to communicate progress, address concerns, and develop individualized learning plans when necessary
- Incorporate curriculum development strategies that include Montessori methods, sensory play, and early intervention techniques to support diverse learning needs
- Manage classroom routines efficiently to ensure smooth transitions between activities and maintain a structured learning environment
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing where appropriate to monitor progress and inform instruction
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of childhood development principles and early intervention strategies
- Proven experience in classroom management and behavior management techniques for young children
- Strong background in curriculum development with an emphasis on literacy education, math, physical education, and childcare best practices
- Ability to work effectively with children of various ages, including toddlers and preschoolers
- Excellent communication skills to engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners
- Familiarity with specialized educational approaches such as Montessori or other child-centered methodologies
- Experience in classroom experience settings such as daycare or private preschool environments is highly desirable
- Competence in lesson planning, standardized testing administration, tutoring techniques, and child welfare practices
