Position Summary
Join our dynamic kitchen team as a Kitchen Helper! In this vibrant role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our culinary operations run smoothly. You’ll assist in food preparation, maintain cleanliness, and supporting the chef in creating meals for our clients. Essential Responsibilities
- Greet all visitors to Our Hope, providing direction as needed. Provide a welcoming environment for all clients and guests at all times.
- Assist in preparing meals for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring of food items.
- Take lead on 2 days a week to prepare lunch and dinner for clients.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, which includes washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
- Ensure deep cleaning of kitchen to adhere to kitchen safety standards.
- Assisting the Chef with various food preparation tasks and assisting in cooking as needed.
- Assisting the Chef with facilitating nutritional treatment group as needed.
- Helping with inventory control by receiving and storing food supplies appropriately.
- Follow all food safety and hygiene guidelines to ensure a safe kitchen environment.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure efficient kitchen protocols and assist with nutritional needs as required.
- Assist with grocery and food donation pick up and drop off as needed.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, state and federal regulations.
- Continuously drive and support a healthy and safe culture.
- Maintain competency in policy rules and regulations.
- Practice and uphold the Our Hope Standards of Excellence and Ethical Codes of Conduct.
Basic qualifications
- Experience in a kitchen environment or restaurant setting is required.
- Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations is essential.
- Previous culinary experience or training is a plus!
- Strong meal preparation skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques.
- Valid Driver's License
- High School Diploma or GED
